After several months of hard work and preparation, the USI UNESCO Chair is proud to present “Machu Picchu – Seen Through the Eyes of Fernando Astete”, a website and digital photo-archive, designed to increase awareness on the cultural and natural values of WHS #MachuPicchu and to allow tourists to get a deeper understanding of the complexity of the management of such site and the benefits of sustainable tourism. The Machu Picchu website has the aim of unveiling the secrets of the site and telling its undisclosed stories, while Fondo Fernando Astete, developed in collaboration with USI’s Iconoteca dell’Accademia di Architettura Mendrisio, represents the collective memory of the archaeological and cultural identity of Peru.
