The Fenix Mining Project and Mining Tokenization in Peru

On July 22, 2026, the Lima Chamber of Commerce hosted a high-level presentation dedicated to the Fenix Mining Project and the emerging opportunities offered by mining tokenization in Peru.

The event was presented by Geologist Alberto Rios, leader of the Fenix Mining Project, and Dr. Lily Carolina Gamarra Barrantes, Specialist in Latin American Mining Law and International Arbitration in Natural Resources and Advisor to the Swiss–Peruvian Chamber of Commerce, Industry, Tourism and Agriculture.

The presentation brought together representatives of leading mining companies and key industry stakeholders to explore how innovation, legal certainty, transparency, and digital technologies can contribute to the sustainable development and financing of mining projects.

The Fenix Mining Project

Led by Geologist Alberto Rios, the Fenix Mining Project is focused on gold deposits and represents an important example of the potential application of tokenization to real mining assets.

The project illustrates how the digital representation of mining-related assets may create new opportunities for investment, improve access to financing, and strengthen transparency between project developers and investors.

The tokenization of the Fenix Mining Project was made possible with the support of the Swiss–Peruvian Chamber of Commerce, Industry, Tourism and Agriculture, acting as an institutional partner, together with its technology partner, Finance Crypto Swiss SA.

Mining Tokenization: Innovation, Investment and Trust

During the presentation, Dr. Lily Carolina Gamarra Barrantes examined the legal and strategic dimensions of mining tokenization in Peru.

Tokenization should not be understood solely as a technological process. Its successful implementation requires a solid framework that integrates legal certainty, technical verification, financial transparency, environmental responsibility, and sound governance.

When supported by reliable documentation and clearly defined underlying assets, tokenization may help mining projects access innovative financing mechanisms, increase their visibility among national and international investors, and promote greater trust throughout the investment process.

A New Opportunity for Peru’s Mining Sector

Mining tokenization may offer particular opportunities for small and medium-sized mining companies seeking alternative sources of capital and greater access to international investment networks.

The event highlighted the importance of collaboration among mining professionals, legal experts, institutional partners, and technology providers in developing responsible and transparent models for the future of the sector.

The presentation of the Fenix Mining Project demonstrated how the integration of mining expertise, legal knowledge, institutional support, and technological innovation can contribute to new pathways for investment and sustainable growth in Peru’s mining industry.
